We are excited to welcome a part-time Cook/Cook Assistant to join Australia’s first multi-generational precinct in Mordialloc. In this unique setting, you’ll prepare nutritious and delicious meals for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years, ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and food safety.

 

About TLC Early Learning

Our centre provides 118 places for children aged six weeks to six years, delivering an innovative program where children and aged care residents enrich each other’s lives through meaningful interactions.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

• Assist the Chef in preparing morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea
• Adhere to National Quality Standards for food preparation
• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen
• Perform basic food preparation tasks
• Uphold high standards of hygiene and food safety

 

Hours of Work

• 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday
• Opportunity to pick up extra hours in our onsite café and bar

 

About You

• Experience in meal preparation, online ordering, and stock management
• Knowledge and passion for the multi-generational care model
• Understanding of dietary guidelines and food safety practices
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
• Excellent communication skills

 

Things That Matter to Us

• Experience in Early Learning or Catering
• Allergen management knowledge
• HLTFSE001 – Follow Basic Food Safety Practices
• HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an Education Setting
• Certificate III in Commercial Cooking or Early Education and Childcare (desirable)
• Working with Children Check and Police Check
• Eligibility to work in Australia
• Up-to-date COVID-19 vaccinations (3 doses)
