Health & Aged Care Trainer

Job Type: Casual

Location: Southeast Region – Donvale, Hallam, Noble Park, Frankston North and Mordialloc

TLC Healthcare is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Health & Aged Care Trainer (Casual) to join our Registered Training Organisation team. This role is perfect for a passionate educator who thrives on developing others and delivering highquality training in the health and aged care sector.

About the Role

As a Casual Health & Aged Care Trainer, you will deliver and assess training across a range of programs including:

  • Medication courses
  • First Aid
  • Nursing and Personal Care Worker (PCW) practices
  • CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing)
  • Other specialised programs and nationally recognised qualifications

You will play a key role in supporting students—both internal and external—to develop strong clinical, safety, and person-centred care skills. This is a specialised role requiring strong RTO operational understanding and a passion for areas such as medication management, dementia, and health-related topics.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, compliant training and assessment to diverse student groups
  • Follow up with students to ensure timely completion of assessments
  • Maintain strong knowledge of aged care standards, legislation, documentation, OHS, infection control, and accreditation requirements
  • Support fellow trainers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Complete all mandatory training and maintain accurate documentation
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to travel across TLC sites

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (or equivalent)
  • Experience delivering training in health or aged care settings
  • Strong knowledge of medication, dementia, and aged care practices
  • High-level communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills
  • Registered Nurse qualification 
  • Experience delivering first aid and medication training
  • Understanding of Aged Care Act, accreditation requirements, and industry standards

 

Compliance Requirements

  • A relevant qualification certificate
  • Up-to-date COVID-19 vaccinations (minimum three doses)
  • Valid NDIS Check (including Police Clearance)
  • Eligibility to work in Australia
  • Must have a valid current Drivers License
