Front of House Team Member – The Village Café & Bar | Melbourne, VIC

We’re searching for a warm, energetic Front of House (FOH) Team Member to become the welcoming face of The Village Café. If delivering unforgettable service and creating a vibrant, connected space lights you up, we want to meet you.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing exceptional customer service with warmth and professionalism
  • Supporting both the barista and kitchen crew to ensure smooth daily service
  • Operating FOH equipment (sandwich press, microwave, basic coffee machine use)
  • Handling POS transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and inviting café environment
  • Restocking and monitoring inventory
  • Educating guests about our menu offerings and daily specials
  • Assisting with opening/closing responsibilities
  • Living our values of quality, consistency and community

Hours & Availability: Our café operates 7 days a week. We’re particularly keen to hear from those who are available for weekday afternoon/evening shifts and weekends.

About you:

  • Customer-focused with a can-do attitude
  • Calm under pressure and able to work independently
  • Strong communicator with top-tier interpersonal skills
  • Committed to excellence, timeliness and teamwork
  • Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced hospitality setting

Your experience & qualifications:

  • Experience in hospitality, retail or customer service (preferred)
  • POS system experience (desirable)
  • HLTFSE001 – Follow Basic Food Safety Practices
  • HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
  • Working with Children Check & NDIS (includes police check)
  • Eligibility to work in Australia
  • Up-to-date COVID-19 vaccinations (3 doses)
  • 2025 Influenza vaccination
