Position Summary:

Reporting to the Club Manager, the Swim Instructor is responsible for developing, planning and delivering specialist swim classes to members of TLC Health Clubs. The Swim instructor will design fun, engaging and effective courses and lessons designed to improve participants’ mental and physical wellbeing, enhance muscle tone and strength, and promote desired health results for members. You will have the required knowledge to adapt the content of the classes to suit a broad range of age groups, abilities and levels of physical fitness, including beginner and advanced levels, children, seniors and pregnant members.

 

Qualifications / Experience Required:

  •           Minimum AUSTSWIM Swim teacher accreditation or equivalent
  •          Demonstrated experience in planning, developing and running swim classes
  •          Experience in Learn to Swim leadership or Aquatic Leisure Facilities
  •          Commitment to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction 

Job Competencies:

  •          Ability to set, achieve and monitor individual goals
  •          Ability to design and implement safe and effective Swim class classes, instructing participants in correct exercise technique
  •          Demonstrated time management and ability to multitask
  •          Demonstrated excellence in customer service and strong service delivery ethic
  •          Sound knowledge of the principles of exercise programming and instructing.
  •          High level attention to detail
  •          Computer literacy
  •          Direct service hours of swimming and water safety program instruction at an agreed portion of contracted hours
  •          Develop and maintain and the TLC Health Clubs LTS program to ensure efficiency and effectiveness Monitor and evaluate the performance of swim instructors and provide ongoing feedback and support
  •          Maintain accurate records of swim school enrolment, attendance, and progress
  •          Respond to enquiries and resolve concerns from parents, students, and staff in a timely and professional manner
  •          Collaborate with other departments to promote the swim school program and expand its reach within the community

  •          Excellent verbal and written and interpersonal communication skills
  •          Excellent presentation skills
  •          Friendly, approachable and positive demeanour

Compliance Requirements: 

  •      Right to work in Australia
  •          Current Level 2 First Aid including CPR
  •          Up to date COVID-19 vaccinations (3 doses)
  •          2025 Flu vaccine
  •          NDIS Check (includes Police Clearance)
  •          Current working with children check or equivalent
  •          Current Working with Children’s Check – Employee (Victorian) (or willingness to obtain)
