We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Educator to join our Early Learning team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in establishing and shaping a high-quality early learning environment where children can thrive.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager – Early Learning, you will lead the delivery of exceptional education and care for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years. You will create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment aligned with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS).

As a Lead Educator, you will play a pivotal role in curriculum development, team mentoring and fostering strong relationships with families and the broader community. You will also contribute to our innovative intergenerational program, creating meaningful connections between children and older adults.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, play-based educational programs aligned with EYLF, VEYLF and NQS
  • Lead, mentor and support Educators, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Ensure a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all children
  • Observe, document and support children’s learning and development
  • Build strong relationships with children, families and external stakeholders
  • Support the establishment and ongoing development of the Early Learning Centre
  • Collaborate with aged care teams to deliver intergenerational experiences
  • Ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory and organisational requirements
  • Contribute to a positive workplace culture aligned with TLC values

 

About You

You are a dedicated Early Childhood professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality education and care. You bring leadership capability, creativity, and a strong commitment to child-centred learning.

You will also demonstrate:

  • Sound knowledge of the National Quality Framework (NQF), NQS, EYLF and VEYLF
  • Understanding of contemporary early learning approaches (e.g. Reggio Emilia preferred)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships
  • Leadership experience or capability to mentor and guide a team
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
  • A genuine commitment to inclusion, diversity and child safety

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Diploma or Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or ACECQA-approved equivalent)
  • Experience in an Early Learning environment
  • VIT Registration (if applicable)
  • Current First Aid (HLTAID012), Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening
  • Knowledge of child safety standards and regulatory requirements
