Swim Instructor

We’re looking for a passionate and qualified Casual Swim Instructor – Babies and Toddlers Focus to join our Health Club team. This opportunity is primarily suited to applicants who specialise in teaching infants and young children, and who are confident creating safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate swim experiences that build water confidence and foundational skills from an early age. We also welcome applicants who bring experience teaching older children and adults, and who value supporting swimmers at every stage of their learn-to-swim journey.

• Location: TLC Health Club – Mordialloc
• Availability: Casual – must have availability to work weekends

What You’ll Be Doing

• Prepare and deliver engaging swim lessons primarily tailored to babies, toddlers, and their caregivers
• Support the development of water confidence, safety awareness, and early swimming skills in young children
• Contribute to lessons for older children and adult learners where required, helping swimmers continue to build skills and confidence
• Create a welcoming, calm, and positive learning environment for children, adults, and families
• Ensure teaching equipment and lane space are prepared, safe, and suitable for all class types, with a strong focus on infant and toddler programs
• Participate in team training and uphold duty of care, incident reporting, and mandatory reporting requirements

About You

• Passionate about helping babies and toddlers feel safe, confident, and happy in the water
• Experienced or confident in working with infants, toddlers, and their caregivers, with the ability to build trust with families
• Able to adapt teaching style to support older children and adult learners when needed
• A calm, friendly, and professional communicator who creates a positive learning experience for a diverse range of swimmers
• Reliable, enthusiastic, and available to work weekends

Things that matter to us

• AUSTSWIM / Swim Australia Qualified Teacher (or equivalent)
• AUSTSWIM Babies and Toddlers Certification or equivalent highly regarded
• Experience teaching babies and toddlers strongly preferred, with the ability to also support older children and adults
• Level 2 First Aid Certificate (including CPR)
• Up-to-date COVID-19 vaccinations (3 doses)  
• 2026 Influenza vaccination
• Police Clearance
• Working with Children Check
• Proof of eligibility to work in Australia
