We provide placement opportunities for students studying with external Training Organisations/RTO's.


Real-World Experience for Future Carers
TLC Learning Academy provides placement opportunities for students studying with other external Training Organisations/RTO’s.
All 12 TLC Aged Care locations are open for student placements, but capacity is limited at each home.

Courses
Placements are accepted for the following courses:
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing or Disability)
- Certificate IV in Individual Support (Ageing or Disability)
- Allied Health
- Diploma of Nursing – Aged care, Mental Health, Primary Healthcare, and Sub-Acute (upon special request)
- Bachelor of Nursing – Aged care, Mental Health, Primary Healthcare, and Sub-Acute (upon special request)
- Early Learning (currently only available at TLC Early Learning Mordialloc)
Hours
Students are expected to complete their placement full-time, regardless of the number of hours they need to complete (be it 120 hours (3 weeks), 80 hours (2 weeks), or 1 week (40 hours)).
Placement Commencement
Placements occur weekly but never on weekends or public holidays, with commencement always on a Monday.
Uniform
Students are expected to wear a simple uniform of black professional trousers or skirt, a short-sleeved white polo shirt (this may be the Training Organisation’s polo shirt), black enclosed shoes, and a name tag.
Fees
Fees do apply for each student but are charged to the Training Organisation/RTO.
Facilitator
A facilitator from the Training Organisation is expected to attend for a short period in the first week of placement and in the last week to assess the student’s progress.
