Discover how to make a difference in emergencies, regardless of your background. Learn to spot and reduce hazards, assess casualties, manage initial care, operate first aid equipment correctly, request paramedic assistance, and communicate casualty conditions accurately.
This course includes three nationally recognised codes:
- HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
You'll master essential skills such as:
- Recognising and reducing immediate dangers
- Assessing injuries or conditions of an injured person
- Administering first aid
- Using first aid equipment correctly
- Performing CPR
- Calling for an ambulance or medical assistance when necessary
- Reporting an injured person’s physical condition accurately
Course Requirements
- No academic prerequisites required
- Students must be at least 18 years old when the course starts
- Students must provide their Unique Student Identifier (USI) number
- Students must have basic digital literacy skills and access to a computer or smart device
- Payment of $180 course fee
- Students must be physically able to perform CPR movements on the ground for a minimum of 5 minutes
- Students must complete the online quiz prior to attending
Unique Student Identifier Number
Upon registration for the course, you must provide evidence of appropriate identification. You are required to obtain a Unique Student Identification (USI) number, which can be used for all studies in Australia. Applying for a USI is mandatory and can be done online here.
