Nursery & Baby Daycare in Mordialloc (6 Weeks–2 Years)
We care for babies and infants from 6 weeks to 2 years old in a secure, home-like environment, with consistent primary caregivers who get to know your baby's routines, cues and comfort habits.

Our Nurturing Nursery Program
Returning to work with a baby in tow is a big step, and finding the right nursery care shouldn’t add to the stress. Nursery care at TLC Early Learning Mordialloc starts with connection, not curriculum. In our Turtle and Starfish rooms, babies are cared for by a small, consistent group of educators who become genuinely familiar faces, with the same voices, routines and cuddles day to day, so your baby feels safe enough to explore. We follow each family’s existing sleep, feed and settling routines rather than asking your baby to adapt to ours, and we build from there.
Educators use everyday moments such as nappy changes, feeding and tummy time as opportunities for gentle, responsive interaction: talking, singing and reading your baby’s cues. This isn’t just supervision; it’s the foundation of secure attachment that the Early Years Learning Framework identifies as critical in a baby’s first two years. As your baby grows, that same secure base gives them the confidence to start exploring independently, right up until they’re ready to move into our toddler program.

How We Support Your Baby's Development
Even before your baby says their first word, they’re learning constantly, and every part of our nursery day is designed to support that.
This approach is grounded in the Early Years Learning Framework’s Belonging, Being and Becoming principles, which recognise that infants learn primarily through relationships, not formal lessons. Our educators observe each baby closely, following their individual interests and developmental stage rather than a fixed program, and record what they notice, including photos, sleeps, feeds and nappies, in the Xplor app, so you can see your baby’s day as it unfolds.
- Communication & early literacy: talking through everyday routines, singing, nursery rhymes and sharing picture books to build early language and connection.
- Sensory & physical development: tummy time, exploring natural materials, and fine and gross motor play that builds strength and coordination.
- Social & emotional development: secure attachment through responsive, consistent caregiving, and predictable routines that help your baby feel safe.

Settling, Routines & Family Communication
Starting nursery is a big transition for both you and your baby, so we build in time to settle before your child’s official start date. We also welcome ongoing conversation about your baby’s individual routine. If something changes at home, such as a new sleep pattern, a food introduction or a rough night, just let your baby’s educators know, and we’ll adjust their day accordingly.
- We recommend two transition visits before your baby's first day, giving them (and you) a chance to meet their educators and get familiar with the room
- Your baby has their own designated cot in our dedicated baby sleep room, with sheets washed weekly, so sleep routines stay consistent and hygienic
- Every day, you'll receive photos plus a log of sleep, feeds and nappy changes through the Xplor app, so you always know how your baby's day went, even when you're back at your desk

A Typical Day in the Nursery
Unlike our toddler and kindergarten rooms, there’s no single ‘typical day’ in the nursery, and that’s deliberate. Babies’ sleep and feed times follow their own individual routine, not a fixed centre timetable, so a baby who naps at 9am and 1pm keeps that pattern, while another following a different schedule is supported just as closely.
Around these individual routines, the day includes plenty of one-on-one and small-group time: tummy time, sensory play, nappy changes used as connection moments, quiet reading, and time outdoors when weather allows. Meals and bottles are offered according to each family’s preferences and instructions. Whatever the shape of your baby’s day, it’s built around them, not the other way around.
